Body Photography Samples
These are the photos I have taken for one part of my project which is body photography and I want to show the audience that everyone is beautiful and unique,no matter how much muscle you have or how much your collarbones stick out.
I have done a few experimental shots with a person from my class who has his ears stretched and I asked him if he could model for me for the photo shoot because I thought it would be a good idea to take photos of his stretched ears because people who stretch their ears get judged a lot by others. They say it's ugly and weird but I just want to show people that it's not ugly and that no matter what, you are unique and beautiful.

These are the photos that I have taken of this person's ear. The first photo that I took was in the dark room and I have used a yellow spot light to create the highlights and shadows and I really like how the ear is highlighted and the rest of the head is in the shadow. Also I think it gives out more shadow because I had the light on the right hand side of me.The first photo has a warmer tone to it and I think it looks better than the other photo that I have taken.
The second photo was also taken in the dark room but I have used a different light,a soft box with a cooler tone to it. I have put the light to the left hand side and that's why there isn't that much of a shadow in the photo, also there is a lot of detail in the photo but it's not what I was going for.
To take these photos I have used a Canon 650D with a range of lenses such as 50mm lens and also a 200mm lens.

After taking the photos in the dark room, I have transferred them on my computer in a new folder and then I have opened them in Photoshop to edit them. The first thing I did was open the image that I wanted to edit and then in the right corner, I have clicked and icon called Adjustment Layer and clicked on the Black&White option to change the color of the photo.
After choosing the Black&White option, this table came up at the top of the page. These are the areas where you change the different colors in the photo, for example if there was a lot of red areas on the photo,if you move the red curser to the left,to the darker side the red areas of the photo will become more darker and vice versa.
After doing the first part of turning the photo black&white,I wanted to make the photo a little bit more darker so I have decided to change the levels of the photo which I did by selecting Image,Adjustments and the Levels and to make the photo darker I moved the dark input levels to the right side.
This is the way I have edited all of the photos that I am going to use for my exhibition.

This is another photo that I have taken for this part of the project. I have used the dark room for this photo shoot and a 200mm lens with a Canon 650D.I have used the same technique to turn it black&white as I did for the other photos.
I did do a little bit more editing on this photo because the person who I was taking photos of,had some breakouts on their chest and neck so I had to do some editing to get rid of them.
I did do a little bit more editing on this photo because the person who I was taking photos of,had some breakouts on their chest and neck so I had to do some editing to get rid of them.
This is what the photo looked like before the editing.I had to get rid of the breakouts before turning the photo black&white.
The tool that I have used to get rid of the breakouts was the Spot Healing Brush Tool. I have used it on the main big breakouts and also the small ones and this is what the photo looked like after I have edited it.
After editing the photo with the Spot Healing Brush I have used the previous technique to turn the photo Black&white and I have used the levels to make it a little bit more darker and have lots of shadows on the collarbones.
This is just an example of another photo that I have used for my exhibition and there is a red mark on the person's shoulder and I wanted the skin to be as perfect as it could, so I had to find another tool to use to get rid of it.
The tool that I have used to get rid of that red mark on the shoulder was the Patch Too.I used it to clone the whole area of the skin instead of just choosing one spot of the skin.I had to make sure that I cloned a clean part of the shoulder and not the part that is in the shadow.
This is the final photo that I have edited in photo shop to get rid of the breakouts and I will be using this photo in my exhibition.I will be sending it to the printing company with the rest of the photos that I will do and then I will exhibit them later on.
