Gig Photo Book
One idea of my final project is to make a Gig Photo book. I have a collection of photos that I have taken over the past 2 years and I want to exhibit them so people can see my work.
There isn't a lot of research to be done because all of the photos are all ready to go into a book, all I need to do is find the right font for it and write the message that I want to have in my book and then send it to the printing company so they can print my book out.
The research that I have done is based on music album covers. I have looked at different album covers such as The Clash,Johhny Cash and AC/DC.

The research that I have done is based on music album covers. I have looked at different album covers such as The Clash,Johhny Cash and AC/DC.
I think this album cover is very interesting.I like how the photo that the artist have used isn't a perfect photo where the artist is posing or etc but the photo shows the reality that music gig's and festivals have. Musicians aren't always posing for the camera and looking at the crowd when they are performing, sometimes like on this album cover, the musician is expressing his emotions through smashing his guitar up on the floor and the photographer has managed to capture that moment which turned out to be a very powerful image. I also really like that the photo is in black&white. I think that it gives the photo much more strength and a much more powerful message to it. And I like how in the background you can see the stage and also other people on the stage.
The only part of this cover that I don't like is the font that they have used.To me it doesn't look very professional and it could be organized on the actual album cover a little bit better, maybe the letters could be smaller and different color.

I think that this album cover is simple but I think that it would have a different message to it if it had a different font or the background would be a different color. I think the use of the color black is really smart, because the album itself is called ' Back in Black' and the person who made this decided to put black on black and I think it has worked really well in this case. I like how the text 'Back in Black' is black but it has a little bit of texture to it so it still stands out from the background color.Although I like that it's simple, I do think the bottom of this cover is a little bit plain and maybe the text could of been moved down a little bit so it would be in the middle and that way there wouldn't be so much blank space in between the text and the bottom of this album cover.
I think that this album cover is also very simple and I like it.I really like the way the photo of Johnny Cash has been taken, there is a lot of dark parts in this photo but I think it gives the album more depth and meaning to it. Also Johnny's face looks like he's full of sad emotions so I think that having a black background is a good idea because the message would be different in this album cover if there was a lot of things going on in the background. Although I like this cover, I don't think that the font of the name of the album doesn't suit the cover. I think it should be a little bit more gentle and have more meaning to it and I think that this text doesn't have that. That it the only thing that I would change about this album cover.
I think that this album cover is very unique. I like how the band thought about using their own faces for the cover and also I like how they have thought of something different and have covered their faces with white paint or maybe they have had their faces made out of plaster because when you look at their faces they almost look unrealistic. I like how the cover is very simple but unique at the same time, I don't think it needs anything else adding to it and it looks really good as it is. I also like that the text is a golden color, I think it really stands out with the background being a white color and I think it's also the right size for the cover because it's not taking up too much space on the front of it and I like how they have put their own logo in the text. In the word 'Germany' they have used their Rammstein logo instead of a letter 'R' and I think that makes it stand out a little bit more.
These are some of the fonts that I have found on a site called DaFont and some of them are potential fonts for the cover of my book.I want the font of the text to be quite simple and I want it to be a black color so you can barely see it.For the message inside my book I will be using the basic font because I think it suits the type of the book that I am making.
Human Body Photo Shoot
This is another part of the main project. I have decided to do a body photo shoot because it is something I have never done it before and I was really fascinated by how different we all are and how some people's arms are very muscular and how some people's collarbones stick out a lot or how someone's legs are musclier than others.
Other research that I have done is based on black&white photos and also body photography. I have also looked at some photographers that have done body photography before and I was inspired by them even more to do this project.

These are some of the photos that I have looked at and also some of the photos that represent what I want my work to look like at the end of this project. I like these photos because they are black&white and I think when there is a context in the photo and it is in black&white,it makes the work look much better and more professional. I also really like them because I think they are all very unique.Like I said there are a lot of photographers that concentrate just on the weight of the people and they want to capture that, but then there are some photographers that capture different parts of the human body such as their collarbones, which is my favourite part in a human body, I think they make everyone look more toned up and it is a beautiful part of the body.
One of the things that has inspired me to do this photo shoot is the photos above. I saw them whilst looking for ideas on internet and I thought they were absolutely beautiful and I thought it was very different to take a photo of a person's foot very close up and from a side angle or take a photo of someone's back but not straight on but from a high up angle.

'2015 Disney'
The 3rd part of my project is a Disney Themed photo shoot but after doing a little bit of research and thinking of how I could make the photo shoot more interesting and for people to look at my work and be engaged in it and enjoy what they are looking at. For the research I have used Pinterest because they have some very unique photos or drawings of Disney Princesses and Villains and that is where I got my inspiration from.
I have selected a few photos that I really like. I wanted this photo shoot to be different from other 'Disney' photo shoots that some photographers might have done, I wanted it to be more interesting but not so time consuming at the same time. I thought it would be a good idea to do a Disney shoot but make the princesses look modern. In the actual films a lot of them are wearing big dresses and their make up is very subtle and their hair is very long and natural and I wanted to do the opposite of that. I wanted my princesses to have more make up on like they would in our century. Their clothes would be totally different and also their facial expressions.
'Half Drag'
The 4th project that I decided to do was a 'Drag' photo shoot. I have watched a TV series called 'Ru Paul's Drag Race' and I was really interested in that program and the way the make up changes the whole person so it has inspired me to do a Drag photo shoot. A lot of people who do Drag are being bullied for doing what they do because they say ' it's unnatural' and ' a man shouldn't wear make up', so I decided to show people that it's okay for a man and just a human to do what they want to do if it's not affecting anybody else's life's. I wanted to show people that people who do Drag shouldn't be treated any differently to any other human being.
These are a few of my favourite people who do Drag. I selected their photos because I think that they look wonderful and to me it's so unreal that make up can do such a massive change to a person.I like these photos because I like the make up and the hair that was done to the person and when I was doing my photo shoot, these photos were my inspiration along side of the photos of the photographer Leland Bobbe.
